Information about financing

The WLS has very limited financial sources. The organization is not financially assisted by any state service or other entity. The only permanent source for the implementation of its project and activities is the annual contribution of its members, some special donations by friends and the royalties of the books (anthologies, calendars, etc.) the WLS has published.

For almost 50 years, the WLS function is totally based on voluntary work, which its devoted members and friends offer with enthusiasm.

The WLS annual prizes are totally sponsored by publishing houses, various organizations, donators and friends. The amount of money given with each prize is considered quite low. It is believed that, if the WLS could be financially supported, its prizes would be at the level they deserve.
